A Place to Start
Can I Askew? Foundation was created around a simple belief: people should be able to ask questions, understand their options, and find a path forward. We work to reduce barriers to information, technology, education, and community support, especially in rural and underserved urban communities across Alabama.
Real Questions. Better Oppotunities

National Reach
Our Reach
Alabama is our home and our core focus. We welcome opportunities to provide workshops, trainings, speaking engagements, and strategic partnerships with organizations across the United States when the work aligns with our mission.
Our Founder

ShaElla Askew
Can I Askew? Foundation was founded by ShaElla Askew, an Alabama-based communications and community engagement strategist who has spent her career helping schools and mission-driven organizations communicate clearly, earn trust, and connect with families.
Her work is grounded in a belief that access to understandable information can change what people believe is possible for themselves and their communities.
